A surge counter for lightning arresters is a high-voltage electrical appliance used to monitor the discharge operation of lightning arresters. It consists of a non-linear resistor, an electromagnetic counter, and some electronic components. Under normal operating voltage, the leakage current flowing through the counter is very small, and the counter does not operate.
